As your postpartum doula, I will provide evidence-based education, nurture, practical support and newborn care.
How We Can Help You
-
Education
As your postpartum doula I will offer evidence based information. I provide unbiased, non-judgmental guidance in body and bottle feeding.
I can show you how to care for your baby, show you how to diaper change, bathe and soothe your beautiful new baby.
-
Emotional Support
Transitioning into parenthood isn’t easy and I will be there to listen to your concerns. My experience enables me to recognize normal patterns of postpartum mental health and make referrals and recommendations where appropriate.
My goal is to encourage parent to self care and give new parents time for themselves while staying close by with baby.
-
Practical Support
Ensuring your family are well nourished is a priority of mine. During my visit I will make a meal and ensure there is food for the next 24 hours. I will do light tidying and do any laundry relating to the baby and mom.
Other tasks such a pet-care and running errands are also available.
-
Nuturing
My primary role as doula is to “mother” the new parents, give you the time, love and attention you deserve. I gently guide you through the emotions of becoming a parent.
-
Sibling Adjustment
I will help you help your child and children transition into becoming an older brother or sister. Offering ideas to prepare your child in advance. Giving you advice and tips along the way. Helping you understand the emotional changes in your older children.
Giving practical support to your older child, preparing snacks, involving them in baby care, and reading to them.
-
Making Referrals
Although a postpartum doula is not able to conduct any medical procedures they are constantly assessing. They recognize what is normal, are constantly assessing and are ready to refer when necessary.
I have a vast knowledge of services in the East Bay area and can share me resource with you.
